The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Foundation, in line with its commitment to improving the lives of football people and communities, has paid visits to former Black Stars Team Manager, Sabahn Quaye, and ex-player, Thomas Quaye, at their residences in Accra. The Foundation donated GHS10,000.00 to each of them during the visits, which were aimed at showing appreciation for their selfless service to the nation and the game.

The GFA Foundation delegation included former Black Stars player Sam ‘Foyoo’ Johnson, Michael Osekere, and the Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman, Samuel Aboabire. They visited Sabahn Quaye and Thomas Quaye separately, with the former praising his wife for standing by him during his illness and urging current players, officials, and football administrators to prioritize their health.

According to Malcolm Frazier Appeadu, the Director of GFA Foundation, the donations to the two football personalities are part of the Foundation’s strategic objective to improve the welfare of ex-national players and football officials. Sabahn Quaye expressed his appreciation to the GFA President for the visit and financial support, while Margaret Jonah, Thomas Quaye’s wife, expressed her gratitude to the GFA Foundation delegation for the visit and financial assistance.

All in all, the GFA Foundation’s gesture is a timely reminder of the need to prioritize the welfare of ex-national players and football officials who have sacrificed their time and energy for the nation and the sport. It is hoped that the Foundation’s commitment to this cause will inspire other organizations and individuals to emulate this act of kindness and support for our football heroes.
